On 5 May, 2016, Spook: the Clinic came out. It was the first time anyone saw the green haired girl I came up with that eventually became Juni.

I think the project shaped a lot of what I did later. The artstyle was more hand-drawn, which reminds me of Sticky Paws now. Everything still had a pixelated look because of the app I was using to draw the sprites. The roughness became part of my style, and I still use the same hand-drawn and pixelated mix today.

I just remember wanting to make a horror game. I was so proud of it back then. Looking back, it only had one level. There wasn't much else to it. No checkpoints either, which was frustrating. You had to start over every time. Despite these flaws, Spook: the Clinic is still deeply important to me. It taught me a lot about making games. I learned more from finishing a small project than from many bigger ones.

10 years later, I can't really fathom it's been so long. A whole decade later, and I'm still drawing the character.

And for those who remember Juni...

Her story isn't over yet.
